I am a big girl now!

Rewa has been asserting herself as a big girl lately. From preferring to eat out of her own hands, to putting bindis, she is showing signs everywhere. She was refusing to sit in the "babies' swing" (the chair kind) for quite some time. She would go hysterical. Yesterday I tried the >5yrs flat-board swing with her. And, she just loved it. She laughed and said "pir se" (again please) :) We don't have to hide dustbin from her, infact she identifies kachra on her own and goes and dumps that into the dustbin. When asked if she is a "good girl" or "bad girl", she says "gu gil" and choses "bii gil" between "small girl" and "big girl"!
My little girl, please remain little for a while, Mumma has not had enough :-x

Sweet mistakes

I love the way Rewa says some words wrongly. I am tempted to speak the same way though I know I need to correct her :)
iya (her own name) which became eba recently,
anna (anda)
gigya (gir gaya)
naiii giraaa (nahin gira)
kaiya (kela)
kiyols (crayons)
dudu (milk)
chuchu (susu)
au buton (more butter)
baiji which bacame banoon recently.
beba (zebra)

List is never-ending. Find more details in a miraculously staged video here:

When she takes over...

I was trying to make Rewa eat chapati with dal/sabji instead of having it plain as usual. I tried all sorts of things, tried to cajole her, ate it myself, acted yummmyy and so on. Nothing worked. She would spit it out every time. Ultimately I got tired, put down the plate and gave up.
She saw me sitting there quietly for a moment. Then she went and picked up the chapati, tore it, dipped and rolled into the daal, and put into her mouth, saying "Yummmyyy" :) She finished a whole chapati like that!
